The humble Cocktail Sausage has been a popular kids party staple for many years now. Favoured by both children and adults everywhere it also makes appearances at family picnics and at Christmas get-togethers.
This recipe aims to update bog-standard Cocktail Sausages and give them a little bit of a grown-up twist – who doesn’t love kids party food masquerading as adult fodder? These honey glazed cocktail sausages are a firm favourite of mine and are super easy to make.
These honey glazed cocktail sausages with rosemary are perfect for serving as part of a buffet or as a canape and this has become one of my go-to recipes when entertaining, especially over the festive period.
It’s a super simple recipe that can easily be doubled or even tripled depending on the number of guests being catered for.
Honey Glazed Cocktail Sausages With Rosemary
As a rough guide, I’ve gone with 60 Cocktail Sausages serving 12 people – so that’s five each, although they are pretty moreish so you may want to serve a few more than that!
Cocktail Sausages come in many different forms, including pre-cooked and frozen. The cooking times in this recipe are based on using frozen Cocktail Sausages as this is what I’d typically buy in if catering for a crowd. If using the pre-cooked version, I’d still recommend heating them through until piping hot as this recipe works best with the Cocktail Sausages being served warm.
Once the honey and rosemary have been added, this dish could be kept warm in a low until serving.
Honey Glazed Cocktail Sausages: Use Fresh Rosemary
Fresh rosemary really makes this recipe pop but could easily be substituted for dried rosemary instead. If you’d like a much punchier flavour, a large dollop of wholegrain mustard also works very well with this recipe. Why not give these a try next time you’re entertaining a crowd – they’re sure to go down a treat!
