If you’ve never used your slow cooker for a sweet recipe then you’re missing out! Why not give this gooey slow cooker chocolate cake recipe a try this weekend?
Gooey Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake Recipe
Is there anything better than a nice gooey chocolate cake? This slow cooker chocolate cake recipe makes a wonderful dessert and goes perfectly with cream, ice cream or hot custard.
I actually think it goes very nicely as a dessert after a Sunday Roast as the cooking time is similar to a roast dinner. Pop this in the slow cooker before getting started on the meat and veggies and it’ll be hot and gooey and ready to eat just as you’ve finished eating the main.
Plus, as it uses the slow cooker you’re not taking up space in the oven either.

The chocolate chips could be milk, dark or white chocolate (or even a combination of all three!). Or you could leave them if you don’t have any.
You may have noticed this recipe includes espresso powder. This can be purchased in most supermarkets and helps to give the cake a lovely rich flavour. However, it can be left out if you wish or substituted with a shot of espresso.

Not going to eat all the cake at once? This cake can be kept in the fridge for 3-4 days and reheated in the microwave when you want to it, just ensure it’s fully cooled down before refrigerating.
