Do you have a favourite kitchen gadget? Today I thought we’d take a look at some of my favourite kitchen gadgets and the reasons I love them so much. Here are my top 5 kitchen gadgets, ones that I use day in and day out!
My Top 5 Kitchen Gadgets
Slow Cooker
First up in my top 5 kitchen gadgets, has to be my Slow Cooker. I use it probably three or four times per week, even in the summer. I often use it to cook whole joints of meat, such as pork, brisket, chicken or gammon.
I the fact love that it’s cheaper to run than my oven and it can be used for cooking cheap cuts of meat that benefit from being cooked low and slow.

My slow cooker is also perfect for batch cooking. Typically I use it to batch cook Chilli con Carne or Bolognese. This is then portioned up and frozen, meaning I have home-cooked meals ready to go whenever I need them.
Airfryer
The Airfryer is another gadget that gets a lot of use in our house, I definitely use it two or three times per week. The item we cook most often is probably frozen chips (and various other potato products) but we do also use it for sausages, chicken nuggets, chicken wings and other things too.
Just like with the slow cooker, the Airfryer is much cheaper to run than the oven/hob which is another reason it gets a lot of use. It also cooks things much more quickly, which has a hand in making meal times easier.
Ooni Pizza Oven
Does this count as a gadget? I think it should!
We love our Ooni pizza oven and use it frequently throughout the year. We’ve experimented with different types of dough and made every type of pizza imaginable. We also use the pizza oven to make pittas, garlic bread and calzone.
This is definitely the most expensive kitchen gadget that we own and we have ended up purchasing a number of accessories for it too such as a digital thermometer, gas attachment and gas and a blow torch for easy lighting.
Making pizza dough and pizza from scratch can be quite a faff but it’s something we both really enjoy. In fact, I would say that the pizza oven is far more my husband’s domain than it is mine!

Toast Tongs
Honestly, the smallest and cheapest ‘gadget’ (if you can even call them that!) is in my kitchen but I do love them. Toast tongs simply make it much easier to remove hot items from the toaster. Whether that’s toast, crumpets, pop tarts or even potatoes waffles.
Our daughter recently broke ours and we had to go out and replace them straight away!
Mini Blender / Coffee Grinder
Finally, in my top 5 kitchen gadgets, we have the mini blender/coffee grinder.
This is something my Mum gave me because she no longer uses it, but I’ve ended up using it quite a bit.
While we do have a full-size blender, it can be a pain to put together and clean after use. The mini blender is perfect for chopping herbs, nuts or cheese in small quantities and as there are only three of us, often I don’t need to make huge portions of things.
The thing I most often make using my mini blender is homemade pesto using herbs from our garden.
Finally, an honourable mention must go to my trusty digital scales. Digital scales allow me to be far more accurate when it comes to cooking and baking and I also weigh out pasta and rice to avoid cooking too much.
Do you have any kitchen gadgets that you cannot live without? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
