Are you looking for tasty Vegan treats this Christmas? Well look no further, I’ve put together this round-up of 10 Vegan Christmas Dessert recipes to help you plan a delicious vegan menu for the festive period.
1. Vegan Christmas Pudding
This Vegan Christmas pudding recipe from BBC Good Food replaces the traditional margarine with a dairy substitute and is packed with figs, currants, and rum. Recommended serving is with a scoop of vegan ice cream.
2. Vegan Trifle
Looking at this Vegan trifle from Great British Chefs, you wouldn’t be able to tell that it was any different to your usual Christmas Trifle. The traditional whipped cream is replaced with coconut cream and many elements of the trifle can be made ahead of time.
3. Vegan Mince Pies
Just because you’re a vegan (or if you’re expecting guests this Christmas) there is no need to miss out on mince pies. This recipe from A Virtual Vegan uses both a vegan pastry recipe and vegan mincemeat which can be purchased from a store or you could make it yourself at home.
4. Vegan Christmas Cake
This Vegan Christmas Cake recipe comes courtesy of Domestic Gothess. One of the best things about this recipe is that it can be made up to six weeks in advance, meaning you can get well ahead with your Christmas preparations if you need to. This could be a great recipe to make as part of Stir Up Sunday in late November.
5. Vegan Yule Log
This Vegan Yule Log from The Veg Space looks fantastic and is easy to make. This recipe uses a chestnut puree to give it that extra Christmassy flavour – if you’ve not used it before then it is usually pretty widely available over the festive period. However, you may not find it so easily at other times of the year. If you have any Chestnut puree left over, it can be frozen ready to be used at a later date.
6. Vegan Roulade
A roulade is one of my all-time favourite desserts, and I’m always up for trying it no matter what form it comes in. This chocolate and cranberry recipe comes from the Tesco website and has a rating of four out of five stars.
There is no baking required with this recipe and it can be ready and made in under thirty minutes – a perfect option if you’re limited on time.
7. Vegan Chocolate Cheesecake
This vegan chocolate cheesecake from the team at Olive Magazine looks incredibly decadent – exactly the sort of thing you want to be serving up after Christmas dinner! Using Oreos for the base is a clever way to make sure no one will even know it’s plant-based!

8. Vegan Chocolate Mousse
A vegan chocolate mousse is always a good option as typically it takes little time to make and can be made from ingredients that most people already have in their cupboards. For example, this version from Chocolate Covered Katie takes just five minutes to make and can be made with as little as three ingredients.
9. Vegan Pavlova
Lots of these recipes are rather chocolate-heavy (I mean, why not, it is Christmas after all!) but I thought I ought to finish up by including a couple of lighter options. This Best Ever Vegan Pavlova comes from Baked By Clo. This recipe uses aqua faba (the leftover water from canned/cooked chickpeas) in place of eggs to create the crispy white meringue shells that we all know and love.
10. Vegan Lemon Tart
Finally, we have this Vegan Lemon Tart recipe from Rainbow Nourishments. Lemon is the perfect pallet cleanser to round off a heavy meal so this is a great option for those wanting something a little bit lighter but that is still tasty and maybe not quite as sweet as some of the other options listed here.
I really hope this list of vegan Christmas dessert recipes inspires you this Christmas, whether you have vegan guests, are vegan yourself or just want to try and cut down on your dairy consumption. Enjoy!
